CPD Registration and Tracking at Conferences

Continuing Professional Development (CPD Registration)

For many professional conferences, the seminar programme includes options for attendees to obtain credits towards their Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

This brings added complexities to the pre-event and on-site delegate management processes, as well as post event certification, as an entirely new CPD registration system will need to be deployed.

We work with event organisers to manage CPD registration in the most appropriate way for their event. That usually entails us collecting relevant information ahead of the day then, once on-site, we can track which sessions people actually attend. We also often have to ensure that the delegate remained in the session(s) for an appropriate length of time.

This information is then used to generate and email out certificates that validate the training. It all hangs on a simple but important point – the person must have actually attended the training.

From time to time, we do have delegates who try to obtain certificates for sessions they did not attend. Our robust and accurate reporting modules within our CPD registration system ensures that we know exactly who registered for what session, but more importantly, who attended each session.

For some conferences, attending the whole day is required and so our exit scanners are useful in determining who should receive their CPD points.

We anticipate CPD validation becoming more of a feature at UK training events. We will be continuing to invest in the ways that we can support organisers and delegates, and how we can offer CPD registration features within our internal registration solutions.

Please do get in touch if you need support with tracking CPD credits at your conference.
